In addition, if you want to switch back to original files just remove OpenIV.ASI and ASI Loader using ASI Manager.

Not that I’m complaining or unlikely to download it, but is there any reason why when a new version is released, updating is compulsory and someone can’t just continue running the old version until they feel the need to update?

Old version have critical issues and people can corrupt their files, we force OpenIV to update to prevent it.
People will not update manually.

Thank you so much for this great tool!
This new version is powerful, we can see the model of vehicles.
I like the idea of “Mod” folder, make mods are more easy to be managed.
Texture edit function also is very nice.
But please forgive me that I am a little greedy.
Is there any chance that OpenIV will has a function can read map?
I mean read a group of maps, just like the “Moo Mapper”, which is a tool for GTASA map.
So we can check and manage map in Openiv.
For now, OpenIV can read “.ybn” file, but only one file in one time.

I’ve been unable to add any mods to GTA V since downloading the latest OpenIV 2.6.3. Even though Edit Mode is on, OpenIV 2.6.3 is not letting me replace any files like weapons, weaponsanimation, loadouts, vehiclelayouts, etc. Impossible to replace any file. I even checked my regedit regarding “EnableLUA” is set to “0”. Do you guys still have the previous version of OpenIV. I hjad no problem replacing files in that earlier version, 2.6

What do you mean it is not letting you replace files? It show error or some message?

Why cant I change the installation directory of the OPENIV tools ?
its trying to force me to install it to AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV\

Got the same as Good-NTS: there is no error or whatever, the files are just not replaced. Edit Mode is on, everything as it should be.
Example: x64i.rpf is in the mods directory. Open OpenIV, Edit Mode is On, go to the part to mod. Drag the file(s) into OpenIV … and nothing happens.
This all with latest OpenIV and fresh installed (had to because the 372 patch broke the complete game) and updated to 372 GTA V.

I meant: got the same as Nick 🙂

Wow, I I’m quick 🙂 Did found out the problem. Turns out that it is a rights issue. Running OpenIV in Adminstrator Mode does allow access to the GTA V directory. But it does not allow altering files inside the GTA V directory through OpenIV.
For me it only works this way: go into the Windows Directory, right click the Rockstar Games directory, click the Security tab. And there in the upper part, give the user Modify and Write rights.
OpenIV can then run without Administrator Rights and mods can be applied.
I hope this makes sense, English is not my native tongue 🙂
