May 9th, 2015OpenIV 2.6 – Next step
Today we are proud to release OpenIV 2.6. It took some time, but now you will be able to edit RPF Archives in PC version of GTA V. Currently we come with temporary solution, which requires ASI plugin for the game. When you are try to edit RPF Archive, you will see notification about installing plugin. You need to install an ASI loader and OpenIV plugin, otherwise your game will not work with modified archives. With installed ASI loader and plugin, you will not be able to go into GTA Online. This will keep you from accidently banning and GTA Online will be protected from modifications.
Besides RPF editing, we are also added support for GTA V PC files in Drawable, Collision and Navmesh viewers, so now you can view some models. As always, the full change log is available here.

All righty, more work done.
Renaming OpenIV’s dinput8.dll to asiloader.dll and using x360ce’s third-party dinput8.dll to daisy-chain asiloader.dll allows the game to load. However, if any RPF files are modified, instead of crashing immediately on startup, it throws a “Corrupt game data” error.
Removing x360ce allows OpenIV to work normally.
Therefore, there’s some kind of incompatibility triggered by x360ce calling the asiloader.dll indirectly instead of DirectX loading dinput8.dll directly.
Is there any way of hooking the existence of x360ce in OpenIV? The reason I’m using OpenIV in the first place is for a realistic handling mod, for which I’m using x360ce with a Logitech G27 wheel. Being unable to use x360ce means I’m stuck with a controller or even worse with the keyboard, defeating the purpose of having a realistic handling mod in the first place. =)

Incidentally, for anyone having trouble finding OpenIV’s .asi and .dll, they’re located in your \Users\(username)\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV\Games\Five\x64 folder.

**********POSSIBLE BUG IN OIV OR SCRIPTHOOKV**************
Hi . i got a feeling like openiv.asi is causing problems in gameplay. after openiv installiation downloaded some texture mods and applied . worked but right after that game time is FREEZED along with weather stuck at sunny. none of recovery methods worked BUT uninstalling scripthookv. checked all the mods / plugins and everything . no changes on time freeze. and if i keep scripthook and delete openiv.asi game crashes. i prrety much think there’s something wrong with oiv .everything was fine before . [[ALL DOWNLOADED MODS WERE PURE TEXTURES AND HANDLING FILES .]]

Trying to install Shaunr’s weapons mod (https://www.gta5-mods.com/weapons/shaunrs-weapons-mods) but Open IV 2.6.3 won’t let me replace loadouts, vehicleslayouts, weaponsanimations, and weapons meta files, even though Edit Mode is turned on. Anyone else been able to install mods with 2.6.3? I’m not looking to edit mods, just add them. Any way to download previous version of Open IV otherwise?
