@Quechus13 – OIV already supports import of .png .tga .bmp .jpg and .dds
@GooD – do you plan to support locked files to prevent mod theft? ..and assist/support Doomer in the creation of a locking option for .odr/.odd export? ..and go even further in a locking option for .obn/.obd? – as I see OIV already respects the Zm lock of extracted wft files :2bigthumbsup:

KotsChopShop, Quechus13 ask question for FAQ, this is right. And not all users know about it.
About locking files, WDR/WDD/WFT or any other RAGE/IV resources don’t support any locking features.
ODR/ODD and other openFormats files is simple text files and they not made for locking.

It’s possible to add encryption to openFormats files, but I don’t suppose that’s a strongly needed feature xD

maybe not for these no talent hack convertors that plague the community by littering the modding scene with their garbage these days, but I certainly won’t release any of my scratch work without some kind of protection enabled.. but if you’d like to follow up, I took this specific conversation to gtaf where it’s more appropriate (as I didn’t fully realize what this comment section was about initially)
OT FAQ;
does OIV/OFs only support the latest patches?
..and does OIV/OFs support both gtaIV and EFLC?

I know something similar has been asked before, but please read:
Would it be possible to have an option added to extract RPF6 files from a console version of Red Dead Redemption?
I understand it if you don’t want to help cheaters on the PS3/Xbox 360(I’m not interested in cheating!), but if you would only add an extract option(without rebuild/edit options) for RPF6 it shouldn’t allow cheaters to play modified versions on consoles, while allowing people interested in putting RDR models in the PC version of GTA4 to do their thing(experimenting).

Dinn, I can’t add extract option for RPF6 because for it need to know RDR encryption key, in current workflow this key read from GTAIV.EXE but RDR and GTA IV have different keys.
Also, if you even extract files from RPF6 this not helping you, because RAGE Resources is also compressed, and it need to decompress(on PC and Consoles versions uses different algorithms).Next resources have very complicated structure because is not a simple files.At last, all graphics data (textures, pixel and index buffers, etc) have specific XENOS format and you need read many XBOX and ATI documentation to figure it out.

Dinn, Unfortunately PayPal don’t allow to receive money to Russian accounts.

The OPENIV Newest version for some reason it wont extract the dds’s from wtd files and doesnt show the images ?

I’m confused as to how to use the wpl file I exported… how do I get it into the game?!
