Description | Hi everyone, so I come to you because I've a crash on Win 10 that i've no explanation for. By the way , sorry for my bad english, I'm trying my best. Thank you for your help ! | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | I only launch the OVISETUP, the install work, but if i'm supposed to have a screen that confirm the installation. If I agree for launch OIV after installation nothing happen. When i go to : C:\Users\clems\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV and use OpenIV.exe i've go the error "[FATAL] Can't start application. Recovery directory not found. Error code: Recovery-001. Please reinstall application. C:\Users\clems\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV\OpenIV.exe " | ||||
Additional Information | Some files are missing, and I don't have any explanation : nothing in : C:\Users\clems\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\OpenIV There's no Recovery file in: C:\Users\clems\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV Other files are ok, i guess. ---- I've try to install OIV on an other comp who's on WIN10 also and copy files on my computer after but another error pop-up: "[FATAL] Can't start application. Invalid recovery xml. Error code: Recovery-004. Please reinstall application. C:\Users\clems\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV\OpenIV.exe " ---- I've try to install OIV on my computer and after add missing files from the other installation and the same error appear" Invalid recovery xml. Finally resolve it, Use the option "Download the OpenIV for installation on a separate computer" put it on desktop or somewhere else. Make sure to delete all previous installation of OIV. launch win 10 in safe mod. Use the file "OpenIVSetup" and it will work. I think it's a conflict with some software, in my case it's probably "IObit Malware Fighter". I've try to turn of this one and microsoft defender , without using safemod, but IObit keep blocking during the installation. But after the installation in safe mod, i've launch win10 normaly and the bug still going on with "recovery-004" code. I've uninstall IOBIT malware fighter, it's work. But i dont know how i can use both of them.. It's all for me. Thank for reading. |

@Vulpix Your protection software is deleting the Recovery folder that contains the recovery file "recovery.zip". Try this: 1 - Go to two directories below: Directory 1 "C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp\" and create a folder called "nts.update.openiv". It should look like this: C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Temp\nts.update.openiv Directory 2 "C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\" and create a folder called "New Technology Studio".Inside this create another folder called "Apps" and finally create another folder called "OpenIV" inside the "Apps" folder. It should look like this: C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\New Technology Studio\Apps\OpenIV 2 - Add the two directories which you just created and also the file "ovisetup" to the exclusion (exception) list of your protection software (antivirus and Windows Defender). 3 - Check your firewall settings and make sure that it is not blocking "ovisetup" or "OpenIV" and preventing OpenIV files from being downloaded. Okay, now try install OpenIV. If does not work, try this: Check if you have a security message with a Unblock button on the properties of the "ovisetup" file? If YES click this button to unblock it. Maybe then you can download and install OpenIV normally. |
