Today we are proud to release OpenIV 2.2. This update contain several improvements for our viewer tools that targeted for Grand Theft Auto V weapon and vehicles models. Also now you will be able to view models from XPT resources (particles effects on xbox 360 version). Package Installer was updated with support of 1.1 version of OIV Packages. As usual, we have fixed few minor issues and stuff. The full change log is available here.

August 7th, 2014OpenIV 2.1

Today we are proud to release OpenIV 2.1. This is the first version with Continuous Navigation – a new way to interact with archives. Continuous Navigation gives you ability to navigate through archives continuously just like regular folders. This new experience allows you to navigate faster through archives and inner archives that presented in large quantities in GTA V.

As for Grand Theft Auto V support, we have added two big features. Now you are able to view XFT Models and finally you have all features to edit and create RPF7 archives for GTA V.


We are working hard last months to bring new experience to OpenIV. Meet Continuous Navigation.

What does Continuous Navigation means? As you can see at video above now you can navigate through archives continuously just like regular folders. This new experience allows you to navigate faster through archives and inner archives which presented in large quantities in GTA V. New Continuous Navigation works for all games which currently supported in OpenIV.

But this is not just about navigation, this is one of the biggest changes in OpenIV, we have redone all of our archive code, which mostly originally was written six years ago. Now we have new clean and modern code which allows us to introducing new features in OpenIV like as actually Continuous Navigation and editing possibility for GTA V archives, you even will be able to edit archives inside other archives. Also all work with archives will be more stable in all supported games.

Currently we are work to integrate new archives code into all OpenIV tools and components; also we need to make many tests on new code. As soon as all it will be done we release OpenIV 2.1 with Continuous Navigation.

Today we are proud to announce OpenIV 2.0 release with Grand Theft Auto V support. OpenIV 2.0 allows you to open and view common GTA V files like archives, textures, collisions and some types of visual models. In addition, you able to use powerful OpenIV Audio player to listen great GTA V sounds and music files. Currently OpenIV supports Xbox 360 and ps3 versions of GTA V with some differences in available features, but it is just a first public release of OpenIV with GTA V support, you can expect more features for GTA V in future releases. March 9th, 2014OpenIV 1.6

We’re proud to announce that OpenIV 1.6 has been released. This is maintains release, so no new features, but some important issues was fixed. Full list of changes can be found here.
openFormats for GTA IV models were changed, so you need to update your 3DsMax scripts before you can use it with new OpenIV. The updates for scripts will be releases soon in few days.
